How much does a dental implant cost in the UK?
The median published price for a single dental implant in the UK is £2,500. That is the middle of 215 prices read off the fee pages of 180 practices on 10 August 2026. One in ten publish under £1,320 and one in ten publish over £3,450.
An implant is a titanium post placed in the jaw, with a crown fitted on top once the bone has healed around it. Practices differ on whether the published price covers both parts or only the post, which is the main reason two quotes for the same tooth can look far apart.
The published market, end to end
Every practice that publishes a price for a single dental implant is one tick on this line. Where the ticks bunch up is where the market agrees.
Each tick is one hundredth of the published market, for one implant.
Type a figure to compare it against 215 published prices.
What moves the price
- Whether the crown is in the price. Some fee pages quote the post alone and bill the crown as a second item.
- Whether the site needs bone first. A graft or a sinus lift is a separate line on almost every fee page that offers one.
- Who places it. Practices that list a specialist implantologist price it above their general dentist price.
- The implant brand. Premium systems appear at the top of published lists, budget systems at the bottom.
“From £2,600” is not a discount. 576 practices advertise this treatment as a “from” price, and the middle of those headline figures is £2,600 against a median firm price of £2,500. The word buys the practice room, not you.

Implants are available on the NHS only where there is a clinical need, such as after an accident or cancer treatment, and few practices offer them. Assume you are paying privately.
Privately, the same work has a median published price of £2,500.
NHS charges apply in England; Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland set their own. Figures from nhs.uk, read on 11 August 2026.
Questions people ask
- Is a cheap dental implant a false economy?
- Published prices for one implant run from £1,320 to £3,450, and the cheap end is usually a different offer rather than a discount: the post without the crown, a budget implant system, or a price that assumes no bone graft. Ask what the quote includes before comparing it to another.
- Why is the same implant so much cheaper abroad?
- Overseas clinics quote for the placement, and the follow-up sits with you. If something needs adjusting a year later, a UK practice that did not place the implant may decline to treat it, or charge to take it on. Price the aftercare, not the flight.
- How much do implants cost with a bone graft?
- A graft is billed separately. Practices that publish both list the graft as its own line, so a quote covering both should show two figures rather than one.
How these prices were measured
This page rests on 215 prices for a single dental implant, part of 39,049 prices read from 1,481 fee pages across 983 UK practice websites on 10 August 2026.
- Every figure comes off a practice's own public fee page. Nothing is a survey, an estimate or a model.
- One price counts once per fee page. A chain's branches all carry the group's list, and counting each branch would let one price list decide the market.
- Prices written as "from £X" are counted separately, not mixed in. That figure is the cheapest case a practice leads with, and it reads the market low.
- Prices covering a whole arch or a full set of teeth are left out of a per-tooth figure, because they sit at the top of every distribution.
- Only the 10th percentile, the median and the 90th are published. The extremes of a scraped corpus are where a mis-read price lands, and no single row can move a percentile.
- Lines that name a different job are dropped per treatment. Re-cementing a crown is not the price of a crown, and an extra whitening syringe is not the price of whitening.
